AcceptanceThe panicked crowd pushed past her as she tried to find a way out of it. Their cries of fear pushed her onward until she was out. She found a seat and sat down.
“Hey, are you ok?”
The crowd had dispersed, but the fear still hung in the area. Someone was next to her, watching her.
“I’m fine…Just…needed to sit.”
“You sure? You look pretty rattled.”
“What do you care anyways?”
She turned to look at him, studying him.
He smiled, “You’re a dragon, arn’t ya? Like me!”
“Ashe, you there?”
“Jeeze, Ashe, come on. You’re holding us up.”
“Sorry, 2K. Just lost in thought.”
“Heh. What else is new?”
2K laughed and flew off, Ashe close behind him.
RunFeet pounded the pavement, her heart pounded against her chest.
“Don’t let her escape!”
Ashe swung into an alleyway and continued to run. She kept an eye out for anything she could use to block her pursuers. She pulled down garbage cans, and smiled at their cries of alarm.
Ahead of her was a fire escape. She jumped and grabbed the bottom rung. Pulling herself up she continued to run up to the building’s roof. Once on the roof she paused
to look back. They were still after her.
There was only one option left. Ashe continued to run, but she pulled out her wings and launched herself into the air.
